Dear Partners and Friends,
May the Lord bless you during this New Year and the beginning of a new decade. It is incredible how time seems to fly! Of course, that is all the more reason to “redeem the times” and make the most of our opportunities.
I have heard this statement attributed to several mighty people of God, but the first one I read was from the great modern Christian missionary/martyr, Jim Elliott, killed in Ecuador by the Auca Indians “….I would rather fail in the cause that will ultimately succeed than to succeed in a cause that will ultimately fail.” If you have never read the book, Through Gates of Splendor, I recommend it! Jim Elliott stated further, “We’ve only one life …. It will soon be past. Only what is done for Christ will last”.
OUR FOCUS IN J.W.E.A.
Our priority will be – in the future as it was in the past – reaching, teaching, helping, discipling and training people with the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ! We have enclosed an insert from some of our past mission projects in needy areas of the world. What a privilege to carry the gospel to 29 different countries during these last few years. This year we preached to approximately 200,000 people, with nearly 15,000 making public commitments to Christ.
As we look at this year, 2010, J.W.E.A. has received invitations from Asia, Africa, Eastern Europe, Haiti, Dominican Republic and India – way too many for us to adequately prepare and afford to underwrite. However, with the exception of our financial resources (which continue to be extremely lacking) we, by faith, are making specific plans for three major missions in 2010. There are so many lives needing to be touched. We believe that only a relationship with Christ can bring about permanent change! So, we continue to “do our thing” – proclamation and preservation!
Our work of faith desperately needs PARTNERS who will be faithful to pray and give, otherwise the plans cannot be fulfilled. So, yes, we continue to need your help! Thanks for all you mean to me. May God bless you richly during this coming year!
