March 2010

Dear Friends and Partners,

Last week I had fellowship with a friend who has been diagnosed with terminal cancer.  He is facing some very difficult days.  However his spirit is so positive as he prays for a “miracle” from God.

Our little grandson , Kael, for whom many of you have prayed, has entered a stage of the disease (Dravet Syndrome) in which his medication is not nearly as effective as it has been in the past.  For several weeks, Kael has been suffering intense seizures almost every day.  He is under the care of the “best” doctors in the field and has been prayed over consistently.  Katie and Michael continue to pray for a “miracle”.

Then, of course, our hearts continue to be moved by the tragedy in Haiti and, now, in the country of Chile.  So many fellow believers that we know and have worked with have suffered and continue to struggle in Haiti.

MY PERSPECTIVE

When Christ is in control of our lives, then, everything around us has a dimension that would never have been known apart from Him.  Rather than constantly worrying about all the issues we face, our great challenge and opportunity is to continually release every struggle of our lives to Christ’s control.  Here are some great scriptural principles for us all:

 *  When we are weak, Christ gives us His strength (II Cor. 12:9-10)

 *  When we face difficult situations that are beyond our comprehension, we must ask for His wisdom (James 1:5)

 *  When life seems impossible, God does the impossible  (Luke 18:27)

 *  When we don’t know how to pray, He will guide us (Rom. 8:16)

 *  When we need power, the fullness of God is available (Eph. 3:19)

REGARDING HAITI

Several of you have helped (through P.G.M.) with the two  orphanages in Haiti.  We have been able to send a total of $3,600 to our good friends, Pierre and Marie Prinvil, to provide food, water, medical supplies and fuel.  Our youngest daughter, Laurie, attends a small church in the inner city of Detroit, Michigan, suffering  30% unemployment by members.  Yet, that church sent a sacrificial gift of $500 to help the orphanages.  The mandate of scripture is that we must  care for the orphans”.  The U.N. estimates that Haiti was home to nearly 400,000 orphans before the earthquake.  Now, thousands more children have been orphaned.

I am including a note from our Haitian coordinator, Pierre Prinvil, who not only has the two orphanages, but has headed up our pastor-training schools and evangelistic festivals in Haiti.  We plan to return to Haiti later this year.

THANKS …..

Our team and board and Joey and I are so very grateful for you who are PARTNERS in our work of faith!  We depend on the Lord and thank Him daily for those of you who listen and obey His prompting  to pray for us and provide financially.  We could not do it without you, since we are not underwritten by a denomination or group.  Our missions / evangelism efforts operate totally by faith!  May God bless you.

Your brother in Christ,

Jim Wilson

THANK YOU LETTER FROM OUR HAITIAN COORDINATOR

“Today, for the first national day of prayer for Haiti, about 2,300 people gathered in our church and orphanage’s site, not to receive rice and beans, but for prayer, confession, consecration, rededication, forgiveness and above all, to accept our Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior!  Guess what?  65 people got saved today alone.  We had 11 yesterday.  What a blessing.  All of that happened because of your help and support of all kinds.  Thank you very much.  Please continue to pray for us as our priority will shift to Bibles for new Christians, repairing and rebuilding small, one-bedroom houses for church members and other people who do not have any roof to sleep under after the quake.  Thank you again, for all your prayers and financial support.”

God Bless you,

Your brother in Christ,
